In 2019 I started to see a need of making big changes in the assembly in Köping factory due to new coming products. Managed to get a decision to start up a pre study to investigate how to solve the issue. Daniel Severin and me from engineering and Dan Fellgård from logistic started to work on the pre study. In the same time a new factory building project was started to get out from the old A-plant on the other side of the rail way. I proposed to install a new assembly in the new building and instead install A-plant in the old assembly area to meet future demands of products and their requirements. Decisions was made, this is the way to go! A new assembly was developed with high focus on modularization, flexibility and reconfigurability. This to be able to meet the future demands of new products without knowing exactly how they look like. The need of electromobility products is high to secure a more sustainable future of our world. This is challenging the industrial system to be very flexible and reconfigurable. Thanks to Carin Rösio Simon Boldt Ann-Louise Andersen Thomas Ditlev Brunø I got the input I needed from the Rekon project to delevop an assembly that meets this demands. Thanks also to the thesis workers Filip Skärin Mohamed Elnourani Elhag Abdelmageed Alexander Werthén Fredrik Olsson that brought in a lot of knowledge into the project (most likely without knowing it themself until now!). 4 years later from where I started to work on this project the first gearbox fly out from the new factory and today was the real start of production. Anders Bergdahl what an amazing job done during realization of the project and during summer vacation to move old equipment and to start up new ones! To built up 12000 square meter assembly shop floor is challenging. Congratulations for a fantastic job! I know for sure it has not been easy, but you and the team did it! I am very curious to see the new factory up and running and how the solutions will perform.
Vilken resa jag fick vara med på! När jag gick in i projektet 100% som avdelningsrepresentant Oktober -22 hade jag fått höra att det kommer vara utmanande och intensivt. Det stämde väldigt bra, men det har också yrkesmässigt vart det roligaste och mest givande jag varit med om. Vi fick ut den första växellådan tidigare än planerat, men det kanske beror på alla oerhört kompetenta och målmedvetna kollegor på Volvo och våra leverantörer?
